Category pages not displaying correct posts

Recommended Posts

inov8ed

Hi, Just finished the upgrade to the latest PlatformPro and found something odd. My category pages do not display the correct posts from the categories: eg. http://www.inov8-ed.com/category/twitter but the tags display correctly http://www.inov8-ed.com/tag/twitter It is almost like the category pages are loading the magazine layout from the home page by default... very odd. Any idea where I can look to fix the issue? Did I miss something in the upgrade? Thanks. -Adam

Are you sure your posts have categories assigned? There is not 'posted in xxxx' in the post meta

They show in the admin interface as being assigned to proper categories... maybe the table is screwed up somewhere? -Adam

Anywhere as in in my functions.php? I have a few hooks, but nothing that ever broke anything before. The strange thing is that this is just the vanilla category pages. Nothing customized at all. And with the tag pages working fine, I wonder if it is something that got screwed up in the upgrade with the php file that is called to display a category page. Is there a way to check? -Adam

Reinstalled the theme again, that didn't seem to help. It seems to just reloading the home page whenever I ask for any category page... -Adam

Can you deactivate all plugins?

As luck would have it, it was the "Simple Tags" plugin. I hadn't updated to the latest version (2.0b9) but after doing that, it solved the problem! Amazing how a seemingly unrelated plugin can break something else in wordpress.... -Adam
