Twitter for wordpress problem

Hi, The recommended plugin for twitter is "twitter for wordpress". The last week i often get the message in the widget that there are "No public Twitter messages". Is the plugin instable or are there any setting problems? Thanx.

I have the same problem. Its not picking up my tweets.

Have you already tried deactivating your other plugins one by one to see if any of them might be causing a problem?

It's just instable. I tried several browsers under Windows. Guess what? FF 3.6, IE 9.0 and safari 5.0 don't show up the tweets. Chrome is fine, just as my Iphone. So what can be the problem? Thanx

In Settings do you have your twitter name set with all lowercase and remove the "@"? This has come up a couple times before, perhaps you could check these threads for ideas? http://www.pagelines.com/forum/topic/8477 http://www.pagelines.com/forum/topic/8066

Jimmy i changed to lowercase. @ was not the case. Hopefully better luck with this. Thanx

Did you check the other things mentioned in those links? e.g. using only the name and not leading with http://twitter.com, the code that simon fixed for the plugin authors, etc

Thanx Tim. I used the new code but got an unexpected failure on line 5. Well to be short, i changed to the twitter plugin of jetpack. That works stable sofar. Cheers.

I have to agree with Evert. Twitter for WordPress is junk. Works sometimes, other time it doesn't. I know it will take some rework, but my suggestion is to work another plugin into Platform Pro. Just my 2 cents worth.

Hi guys, I was having a similar problem with Twitter integration on my site: I successfully installed 'Twitter for WordPress', linked my Facebook fan page to my Twitter account, and linked my MailChimp campaigns to my Facebook and Twitter account. The links from Facebook to Twitter and MailChimp to Twitter were working, but for some reason my Twitter feed wasn't showing up in my Twitter bar anymore. I say "anymore" because it was working for a short time and then just suddenly stopped. I tried a few things to trouble-shoot like, deactivating and deleting the plugin and then re-adding and activating again and I also tried sending out a new campaign to see if that would work. I added the 'Twitter for WordPress Extended' plugin and now everything seems to be working just fine. I'd have to agree with Evert on this one. 'Twitter for WordPress' is just unstable. I take what I said about 'Twitter for WordPress Extended' back. Just cut out on me and my website is saying "No public Twitter messages" again. Right now, I'm trying to avoid the use of widgets on my site (REDelivery.ca), so if anyone has any other plugin recommendations that will work with ppro's PHP functions, please let me know! Natalie

I moved over to the script provided by Titter. it is JavaScript & customizable. I bet you could customive the size it to fit accross the bottom of the page like the Platform Pro one and put it in the Full Width Sidebar. I use it the script in my sidebar, but tried it int eh full width and it works. Just a thought.
