You can change the header font size by using this CSS:

h2.entry-title {font-size: YOURSIZEHEREpx;}

As for the content preview, are you referring to the post excerpt?

yes exactly. I'm referring to the post exerpts and the headers ONLY above the post exerpts. I don't want to change the size of the actual post headers etc.

Hi there, Try:

.home .fpost .post-title h2 {font-size:1.5em}
and put it in Custom Code -> Custom CSS in your Platform Settings. If it doesn't work, add
!important
to it:
.home .fpost .post-title h2 {font-size:1.5em !important}

I just got the same error again using these two one afte another. I put em directly over the // HOOKS EXAMPLE --------// in the functions.php file. Is that correct ?

You need to add the CSS to the Settings > Custom CSS > CSS Rules instead of the functions.php file.

.fpost .post-excerpt, .fpost .entry_content {font-size:1em}

Have you tried the Chrome Inspector or Firebug to find these style declarations?
