Safari feature issue

Recommended Posts

I am using WhiteHouePro for a client site and I am having issues with video in the feature slider when I view the site using Safari. The video pops up in the upper left corner of my screen. It does not do that in IE or FireFox. I've used the old youtube code, I've used iframe code and neither helps. If you click play on the video it does start to play but then as the slide changes the video disappears until the next time it shows in the feature cycle. The url is http://www.marknorris.org/blog1/. Another coworker says it looks odd in Chrome too. Thanks in advance for your help.

I don't have a mac, but it looks fine to me in Chrome. Can you post a screenshot of what you're seeing? Also disable all plugins to see if any of them are causing the issue.

Hi Tim, Here is a link for a screen shot of what I am seeing in Safari. http://imgur.com/U8moW I'll disable plugins this morning and see if any of them are causing a conflict. Thank you for helping.

I have a mac, and indeed as Mia discribes, the video keeps playing and the rotating slides continue to display over the video. It does however display in the correct location. Regards, Jackey

Tim, I was able to get the video to stay in place on the feature by using the old youtube code when viewing in Safari. There might have been some code that was off before. I also placed "Please press the Pause button below before clicking play on the video" in the feature text to instruct the viewer on pressing pause so that the video plays without going to the next slide. You don't have to have a mac to use Safari, they have downloads for PC's too. http://www.apple.com/safari/download/ I try to view the sites I work on in several different browsers because they can and do act differently.

Hi Mia, Is your issue resolved then? Or, did I misunderstand? BTW: That's great practice to do cross-browser testing. I'm a firm believer in that as well ;)
