Need space above content area to show background image

Hi I have a nice background image that frames the left/rt of the main content area on my site. But I wish to see some of the background at the top of tha page also. Right now, the content area (branding, ect) starts at top of page obscuring the background. How do ya effectively slide the content down? How tell the "page-canvas" to start 20 or 40 px lower so some background image shows over the top? Site is at; http://nwpermaculture.com/ and there needs to be some trees showing up top! Thanks john erik

Quick update I found page-canvase in styles.css and changed from: margin: 0 auto; to: margin-top: 40px; margin-right: auto; margin-bottom: 40px; margin-left: auto; Which moved it down - BUT it moved the background image down also!!! so obviously there's some other place where the adjustment needs to be done. Any body got an idea??? Thanks john-erik

Ok Seems I'm answering my own question. Found a style for #page and adjusted the padding-top and it seems to be doing it... If you read this far, thanks for your interest. john-erik
