How do I make redirect the 404.php page to my own custom version?

Hi I would like to set-up a page within wordpress as a custom styled 404 page in the iblog theme, which would be full width and built within wordpress. Then whenever the 404.php is called, I'd like it to redirect to this other page. (This seems to be the best way to do this as from what I can tell the css changes don't seem to work on the 404.php file?) Could you enlighten me on the best way of doing this. Thanks Matt

Hey Matt, why don't you just modify the 404.php file?

Hi Matt, Instead of redirecting the existing 404.php page to a custom version of it, you can go ahead and open the 404.php page and edit it according to your desires. If you want to change its appearance, then you can customize the CSS. Does that make sense? Also, have you checked out this guide to custom 404 error pages on WordPress? Perhaps it will be as informative as it is inspiring: http://www.1stwebdesigner.com/wordpress/how-to-create-a-custom-error-404-page-for-wordpress/

Please read the docs before posting. Please do not private message me unless I ask you to.
