Hi, I need some help. I am using platformpro. I am trying to emulate CNN blogs page. I was trying to insert a picture in the background but then I have problems with changing colors to the content area. I am using Full-with Design with canvas mode now (I tried Full-with design framework first but didn't work) The page of CNN is here: http://piersmorgan.blogs.cnn.com/ I tried to increase the height of header but wasn't what I was looking for. What i need is the following : 1. How can I increase the distance between the menu and the content area? 2. How I can place the picture in the background? 3. How can I change colors of the content area? 4. How can I change colors in the sidebar area? 5. Is it possible to place a picture in the background of the side bar area? Here is a pic of the areas I want to change. 1DW4i.jpg It's been many day I was working on this with no success Luis

1. How can I increase the distance between the menu and the content area?
CSS can be adjusted to so that the margin spacing between the menu and content area increases.
2. How I can place the picture in the background?
Settings > Design Control > Site Background Image
3. How can I change colors of the content area? 4. How can I change colors in the sidebar area? 5. Is it possible to place a picture in the background of the side bar area?
CSS and some settings from Settings > Design Control can be used to adjust the colors and add a background image to the side bar. To get started, you'll need Firebug: http://getfirebug.com/ For an overview on how to use Firebug for customization, please see here: http://www.pagelines.com/docs/customization#101

Hi Catrina, 1. I know I have to change CSS but what is the code for that? (sorry, I don't know all the technical names) I was able to change #branding {...}, but this change the height in the header...I can't find the #..., or . ..., (the right name) 2. I was able to place a picture using #branding { height: 350px; background: url(http://www.rojasspanish.com/rojasvideocenter/images/joantouched4.jpg); } but this put the picture in the header and not in the background of the content. 3. I am using Firebug, but it's not helping me much Luis

To get started, you can change some of the color settings in Settings > Design Control.

Hi Catrina, Ok...but in what Design mode should I work? I am currently in Full-width with canvas. here is the site http://rojasspanish.com/rojasvideocenter/ Now, i have changed the color of the page using Page Canvas background color and I used a random purple #c920c9 1. as you can see, I can't divide the header from the content 2. I can't expand the distance between the menu and the page content so I can place a picture background there. Luis

Strange, I didn't see the post you made before I made my last post. Anyway, for the Design Mode, you can choose any depending on how you want the site's layout to look overall. We'll start with #1 first:

1. How can I increase the distance between the menu and the content area?
The menu is at the very top of your site (above the header). Does this mean you want to increase the space between the header and the content below it or the menu and everything else below it (header included)?
