How to list author information?

Recommended Posts

Hello, I have currently added the pro template and made a blog: http://talarformedlingen.se/blogg/ As you can see I have "4" blogs which at the moment is linked through an archive site. What I would like to do is that when you click on one of the pictures you go to a page which shows you all posts by that author as well as an infobox widget about the author, Ive tried the "sample template file" from http://codex.wordpress.org/Author_Templates but no luck. I am fairly new to this whole wordpress thing and don't have all the time in the world, I thought a feature where you would get author info would be pretty basic and included in most themes? I hope you guys understand what I am after, if not please reply and I will try to give an better explanation.

By clicking on an author name link, you are directed to a page containing the posts that author published.

What I would like to do is that when you click on one of the pictures you go to a page which shows you all posts by that author...
Which picture are you referring to exactly? A picture within a published post?

Please read the docs before posting. Please do not private message me unless I ask you to.

I am referring to the 4 main pictures that you see on http://talarformedlingen.se/blogg (the wide ones). When you click on them today you come to http://talarformedlingen.se/blogg/archives/author/talarformedlingen etc (archive author pages) I would like to have either sidebar information depending on what archive they are viewing, I know how to create a widget that tells the author information but I do not know how to set the widget to only show on archives/author pages, if I add the widget today it will appear on the frontpage as well. Another alternative would be that when you click on a name for example "by Lou Rossling" on http://talarformedlingen.se/blogg/archives/40 it would go to a page with information about Lou Rossling Please ask further questions if you need more info!

Ah, I see. You can use the author link (i.e. http://talarformedlingen.se/blogg/archives/author/talarformedlingen) to link the appropriate image to where you want it to go and do the same for the rest of the images. As for the widget that only shows up on a certain page, thee is no setting for that, some customization using templates (see here for more info: http://www.pagelines.com/docs/custom-sections).
