I activated platformpro and not the platformbase

I discovered that I activated platformpro and not the platformbase and have been working on the site for quite a while. I have not edited any of the theme files by hand. Can I switch to using the child-platformbase theme without losing all the work on my site? I'm concerned that if there is an update to the platformpro theme I will not be able to update without losing everything. Is there a way (for me) to make a child theme from what I'm working on right now? I need really straight forward directions that are easy to follow. Everything I've read about child themes seems complicated or does not include enough instruction for me to feel confident executing. Please advice. I want to use a child theme without losing all the work I've done to date. Thanks.

Yes, just activate the child theme and you can work from there rather than editing the parent files in PlatformPro. You won't lose anything from activating (since technically the PlatformPro theme is just deactivated, not deleted).

Please read the docs before posting. Please do not private message me unless I ask you to.
