Add this code instead:

h2.entry-title {font-size: #px;}

Change the number size to what you desire.

Try adding it to the base.css file in the child theme instead. (The child theme must be activated first through Appearance > Themes)

i can see now that when I open one of the pages, the header font is bigger than on the frontpage. Also when I press to comment on a post, the post header is also bigger there. Its just on the frontpage it wont work.

You can use this CSS to change the page title size (this is different from the post entry title size):

h1.pagetitle {font-size: #px;}

Change the # to the size you want.

I think I know what you mean now. This is for changing the size of the post titles in the single posts:

h1.entry-title {font-size: 14px;}

Use this code:

h2.entry-title {font-size: 18px;}

Change the size according to your wishes.
