Static Home Page - Permalinks Problem

Recommended Posts

Hi I've just discovered the iBlog theme and I'm experimenting with it's features before upgrading to the Pro version. I've created a test site and I have a static front page called 'Home' with a posts page called 'News'. The problem I have is that if I change the permalinks settings to a custom structure with /%postname% so that the url displays the page/post title, whenever the site loads there is a 404 - Page Not Found error. If I leave the custom permalink setting and revert to front page that displays the posts page it works Ok. If I have a static front page with the default permalinks setting that works OK too. Is there anyway to use the /%postname% setting in the permalinks and a static front page without generating the 404 error? Thanks

You need to enable the rewrite module in Apache. If your using Wampserver, just click on the little icon in the taskbar, go to Apache ->Apache modules and check rewrite_module.
