On the home page the text on the bottom of the page is HUGE and the alignment throughout the page is out of wack. Any ideas? Really need to get this fixed quick!!!
probably a markup problem in your content.
Have you run the W3 validator on it?
What is the W3 validator and what does it do?
tests to see if you have any 'unclosed' tags or html markup issues...
second option is to use firebug to look for problems too (see video tutorial by Adam)
Finally, you can also post a live link if you want us to look closer..
It only does this on certain computers so when I get to one of those computers I will see if I can get a live link up.
Here is the link. The issue is not a sporadic one in that the users that do experience the issue always experience the issue. Most users do not have a problem viewing the site correctly. From what we can tell from those who do experience the issue is that it seems to only occur for users using the Windows explorer browser. Although it does occur across different Windows OSes (Vista, XP and XP Pro). This is not to say that it all users of Windows Explorer are experiencing the problem. But again, those who do experience it, always do. Hope that makes sense. Thanks for your help.
This is generally a problem with laptops running IE because they often have a different default resolution for reading font sizes. The user can change this on their computer, but that is not going to help us at all because they don't know that.
Is the problem with just the headers, or all of the text including paragraphs beneath the headers?
oh that interesting, but the people that have said they are having problems on our website are not using Laptops..... It's with all of the text though.
Follow this link: website validator
You have many unclosed tags.
Since your doctype is xhtml not html all your `
` tags need to be `
` tags...many images are also missing the "/" before the end ">"
Hope this helps
Thank you it is now fixed!
