adonnan 1 Report post Posted April 28, 2011 The feature slider looks quite powerful, and confusing with its many options. I've read all the documentation on this. I want to be able to pick which blog posts are added to the feature slider without manually creating a feature each time. Is that possible? Or is that what the "Use Post Category" option is for? It looks like a great thing to add to the top of my blog page, but I'd rather ask the pro's before I spend more time and getting nowhere on this. The first slide is one I created manually that links to the blog post. The others are just the default ones. I was hoping you could tick a box or a custom field within the post that would cause it to populate a particular feature slide.
timlinson 3 Report post Posted April 28, 2011 Yes if you switch it to "Use Post Category," it will draw from regular posts of the corresponding category ID that you set in the next field. You can also set a different slider for each page in the page's PageLines Meta Settings.
kwinix 0 Report post Posted May 11, 2011 Tim - I have similar questions about the feature slider. Since I am pushing posts to the feature slider, I would like to be able to set default Meta Settings for new posts. So, instead of having to manually set the background image every time (which I always want to be the same), it would be set by default. Or is there a way to do this with custom CSS? ricardo 0 Report post Posted May 11, 2011 Benjamin, You might be able to do that with CSS. The problem I'm foreseeing is overriding this when you need use another background or none (if you have an image there). In a nutshell, doable but with some caveats. marind 0 Report post Posted May 11, 2011 My blog is feeded by FeedWordPress. We receive dozens of new posts in one day. It is not possible to move the image to the background image field. I would like to know how to make it automatically. Thanks for your answer.
