Shortening the Carousel width

Recommended Posts

MrFent
http://www.soundandshadow.com/honest-cowboy I used the following CSS code to shorten the Carousel: #carousel .thecarousel { width: 553px } #carousel .content-pad { width: 686px; margin-left: -37px !important } I set the carousel to display 5 thumbnails & scroll 4 images at a time. Everything looks good in FF and Chrome on the default zoom display (CTR+0) but if I try to zoom out it gets messed up, sometimes showing part of a 6th image and cutting off the sides. Is there a better code I can use?

Yes, and it has no effect. The Displayed Carousel Items is set to 5 and the Items to scroll is set to 4. It seems to be the worst when you zoom out 3-4 times in Chrome and FF. In IE, the zoom doesn't seem to affect it, however when you get to the last photo (there's 33 images), it starts scrolling kind of weird & you have to refresh.

I think that zooming out, regardless of what pixel values are used in CSS, will cause the carousel to look that way. Perhaps you can try using percentages rather than pixel values to see if that makes a difference. For example:

#carousel .thecarousel {
	width: 80%;}

I don't zoom normally, but I tried it here by zooming down to 50% and up to 300% in firefox and don't see any problems.

Yea, but I just tried it in chrome and now I see what you're talking about: rg7Ym.png This is what I see in firefox.. actually the carousel itself isn't shrunk: ZzMhL.png
