pbakker22 0 Report post Posted April 17, 2011 I am using Platform Pro and using static pages to display content. On a page with a lot of text I want to insert a 'Insert More Tag'/'click to read more link' to shorten the text displayed (so that there's a clickable link, or drop down, to show the full text). However, when I insert a 'More Tag' it doesn't do anything, as the full text still displays. Any ideas? I reference the following topics but they seem to apply to Posts, not pages (I'm not using Posts, just static Pages). Am I misunderstanding this whole 'read more' thing? http://www.pagelines.com/forum/topic/8141 http://www.pagelines.com/forum/topic/2407
Simon 248 Report post Posted April 17, 2011 The read more thing is default behaviour for posts. There is a way round it however for pages: http://weblogtoolscollection.com/archives/2007/07/09/the-more-tag-on-a-wordpress-page/ your milage may vary
pbakker22 0 Report post Posted April 17, 2011 Hi Simon, thanks, I'll check that out. For the moment, I installed the following plugin: Sliding Read More, which works pretty well. http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/sliding-read-more/ A shame the built-in 'More tag' didn't work for pages. Well, it didn't work for me anyway.
