Child theme and CSS

Recommended Posts

Just starting to work with Platform Pro. I have two questions about using child themes: 1. If I'm only making changes to CSS, is there any real advantage to using a child theme? 2. If I use the child theme, is it better to enter custom CSS in the custom code section of the settings panel or directly into base.css?

I think the custom code section was designed simply to make it easier to update the code from within the theme settings instead of having to use a text editor. I used to use Dreamweaver to edit my CSS, but now I just use the build in custom code section.

Jon is right, if it is just CSS you are changing, use the code box :) If you plan to get more adventurous later on then you should look into using the child theme.
