Nav dropdown background color

Recommended Posts

Hi all, I'm struggling a bit trying to nail down how to change the background of a dropdown menu without changing the background color of #primary-nav. Basically, I need the nav bar and the dropdown to be two different colors. Thanks in advance for your help. Best, Jeremy

I think you're looking for the `ul.sf-menu` selector. Try something like and see if it's what you're after: `ul.sf-menu ul li {background:#123456;}` This selector may or may not change based on how the menu is created.. I'm not sure. That works on my local demo. In any case, if you aren't already using it, Firebug makes it a lot easier to pinpoint selectors like this.

Thanks, Tim. This didn't do it, either. I've tried so many different selectors that just don't seem to work. My site is www.travelfreak.net. Are you able to see anything I'm missing? I'm just not a fan of the gradient duplicating itself on the dropdown. Jeremy

Hi Jeremy, Here's an example of some code you can use:

#primary-nav ul.sub-menu li a{background:#000000;}
	#primary-nav ul.sub-menu li a:hover{color:#404040 !important;background:#ffffff !important;}
