Imported PlatformPro settings not allowing correct editing of elements.

Hi All! I had a perfect PlatformPro website. I switched the site to new hosting and exported the PlatformPro settings and imported them into the new site. Most of the elements work - except for banners...

  • A banner page will now show ALL the banners, not just from a selected categorie.
  • Scrolling over the "edit banner" text on a page now opens up in "edit page" window

Any ideas? The site: http://kentamplinvocalacademy.com Thanks!

Were the PlatformPro versions the same on the old and new servers? When you go to the WP admin panel > Banners and edit the banners, are the banner set categories still applied in there?

Hi Tim, Yes and yes. It's as if the element of 'banner' are no longer recognized as 'banner'. The boxes are fine and edit fine, as do the features. I have a feeling I am going to have to start from scratch with the banners.

This is normal since it's a post type or am I misunderstanding?

Hi Adam, No, on a banner page, underneath the banner, it says 'edit banner' - clicking on this opened up the 'edit banner' window. Now, even though it still says 'edit banner', when you click on it, it opens up the 'edit page' window instead. Something definitely got lost in transfer. Also, the plugin 'Post Types Order' has changed, the new version changes the initial order of post types.

Here is a live example: http://kentamplinvocalacademy.com/dvds-and-downloads/ This page is called 'dvds and downloads' I created a 'banner category' called 'dvd' and I created 7 banners in that category. It worked perfectly, with the 7 banners showing up on the correct page. Now, 10 banners are showing up, the 7 of that category and 3 from a different category that do not belong.

The bottom line is that this particular installation is recognizing 'banner' as a regular post - not a post type.

I see 7 banners on that page. Which ones don't belong?

I set the max number of blog posts to show at 7 in WP admin in order to hide the non-belonging banners. This site is live with about 400 visitors per day, so I have to be careful how much tinkering I do. I have set up a test page for you to check out: http://kentamplinvocalacademy.com/test-2/ I have this page set up as a banner page and in the PageLine Meta Setting it is set to show 4 banners from the category Testimonials. Instead, it shows 7 banners from a different category - they are the 7 'newest' banners - as it (whoever 'it' is) thinks they are regular posts.

If you tested it again by making a different category with 6 banners and set it to display only 3, does the problem still occur?

Hi Catrina, Yes it does, unfortunately. It's not recognizing the categories OR the post types. At this point I have recreated whatever I can without using the banners and will just not use the banner option. Next time the site goes into maintenance mode I will reload the theme from scratch and see what happens.
