freshlydesigned 1 Report post Posted April 6, 2011 Hi there, I would like to have more than one option for a 340px wide sidebar on the right for various pages on my site, but in the new version of PlatformPro I see that this has changed and you can only have one sidebar (Sidebar1) that is 340px. The Secondary sidebar only comes into play if you select two sidebars on the right in the general page layout, so this either means you have to have two sidebars side by side, or one column of blank space, either of which i don't want. Am I being dumb or is this the way it's going to be with the new version? Many thanks Jamie
Sourena 2 Report post Posted April 6, 2011 Do you want to show different widgets on different pages? If that is the case maybe it is better to use "Widget Logic Plugin" or something similar. alefba.usWeb Development & Design for Right-to-Left languages
freshlydesigned 1 Report post Posted April 6, 2011 Thanks but it looks like you need to know PHP to work that plugin... It's a little frustrating as the old version of Platform Pro achieved this pretty simply.
Sourena 2 Report post Posted April 6, 2011 No. It is quite simple. Just watch this video: and use the conditional tags listed here: http://codex.wordpress.org/Conditional_Tags alefba.usWeb Development & Design for Right-to-Left languages
freshlydesigned 1 Report post Posted April 7, 2011 Thanks, I ended up using Widget Locationizer which seems to do the job.
Sourena 2 Report post Posted April 7, 2011 I did not know about that plugin. It looks like it is easier to use but more limited. If it works for you that is the plugin to use. alefba.usWeb Development & Design for Right-to-Left languages
