How do I use separate templates for homepage and blog?

Recommended Posts

Here's the link: [url=http://pleasepassthebread.org/] On the homepage I am using the feature box and the blog updates below it. Currently the blog "page" looks the same aside from adding the category. I want to change the look of the blog page, so it doesn't have the feature banner on top, and rather than post highlights have full length posts, with large images, etc. Is there a way to separate the two? I.e. could the homepage be changed to a static page in Options > Reading Settings, and then still pull the same info from the blog (I would imagine I would need to insert some custom code to make this happen), and then create a page called "Blog"?

I want to change the look of the blog page, so it doesn't have the feature banner on top - If you don't want the banner on top, you can position it somewhere else using Template Setup in your Theme Options. and rather than post highlights have full length posts - Go to Settings > Blog and Posts > Post Layout Mode > Select Blog Layout Mode. could the homepage be changed to a static page in Options > Reading Settings, and then still pull the same info from the blog - You can make the home page a static page by going to the Reading Settings, but you will need custom code to pull info from the blog.
