Recommended Posts

After upgrade to 1.3.3 I have lost the social icons. I am looking to resolve and will post fix after discovery. Anyone else have the issue and fix? http://murwood.net

Also having this issue and haven't been able to resolve it yet. Looking through the PHP does reveal that there were changes to the demo hook, though. I simply edited that to make my social icons, so I'm guessing that's the root of the problem. Sorry I can't be of more help but if you know your way around the PHP better than I do (which is to say, at all) you might be able to figure it out from here.

the source and path of the social icons were moved to the root images folder... Could the issue be related to some caching related issue?

I have not had the time to look into this post as of yet, but I am planning to this weekend. Thought I would just give an update that I have not resolved my question above as of yet. @Andrew I "uninstalled" WP multisite after the upgrade, so I am wondering if I can recall seeing the icons before. Also, I am going to check my caching.

I have the same issue with GoUK.com - the RSS and Twitter settings are still there in the Platform Base settings, but they don't show up on screen. I have tried removing Platform Base and just running PlatformPro, but the issue remains the same. I have deactivated all the plugins, but nothing changes - the social icons are still AWOL. Anyone have any ideas how to get them back?

SOLUTION: I looked at the Page Info for my site and checked the media settings. Media was pointing to the social icons being in: http://gouk.com/wp-content/themes/images/sprite-socialicons.png However, when I checked the site's folders the "/images/sprite-socialicons.png" folder and PNG were missing. So I created the "images" folder and copied "sprite-socialicons.png" from the local folder I downloaded with the files for 1.3.3 By creating this folder and uploading the PNG, the social icons reappeared. Hope this helps Josh

I think this is related to the style.css stylesheet in the platformpro root folder. The social media links in there seem to have the wrong relative paths. e.g. The facebook link shows: `.icons .facebooklink { background: url(../images/sprite-socializations.png) no-repeat -88px 0;}` Based on the location of platformpro/style.css, it should be: `.icons .facebooklink { background: url(images/sprite-socializations.png) no-repeat -88px 0;}`

@albduece, unpack style_css_fixed-133.zip (will be called style.css) and upload it to the wp-content/themes/platformpro directory on your server.
