Change Top Nav menu color

Recommended Posts

emberlane

Hello, Brand new to Platform Pro, but greatly enjoying! I'm fairly new to the world of CSS, but learning. I'm using firebug to pinpoint what I need to add to the custom css so that my top menu is a different color. I've tried a number of things and am feeling stuck! This is my best shot so far: #primary-nav ul.main-nav { background-color:000000; } What would be really helpful is knowing if I'm way off, and also what would be nearer. I'm trying to make the top menu black. Thanks Andy

May just be a hierarchy thing. When you add that custom css and use Firebug where does it show up on the right hand side? If it's not on top then you need to add something like `body` to the front of the selector

Andy, Just remember, when you're going to add hex code for color, to use the pound sign before the color: You have:

	#primary-nav ul.main-nav {
	background-color:000000;
	}

But the color should be posted like:
	#primary-nav ul.main-nav {
	background-color: #000000;
	}
