samisam 0 Report post Posted March 23, 2011 Hey everyone, I just tried to install and activate the twitter plugin yet the plugin crashes and doesn't activate. the following is the error msg: Fatal error: Cannot redeclare widget_twitter() (previously declared in /home/content/35/5158535/html/****/wp-content/plugins/twitter-for-wordpress/twitter.php:147) in /home/content/35/5158535/html/****/wp-content/plugins/twitter-for-wordpress/twitter.php on line 147 I'm downloading the twitter for wordpress 1.9.7 by Ricardo Gonzalez.. is that the correct plugin? if so, can someone suggest a way to get this running or an alternative? oh, just in case someone does run into this issue, the only way to get the site back up is to delete the plugin directory via ftp otherwise the site doesn't load sometimes. kgstew 2 Report post Posted March 23, 2011 Hi Sami, You will need to contact the Plug-In developer to find a solution to this issue. This is not related to Platform causing a problem for the plug-in but rather the plug-in having an issue in its development. Cheers, -Kyle
samisam 0 Report post Posted March 25, 2011 I sent an email out hoping i'd find a solution. For the time being, can you recommend a way to hide them essage on all pages indicating that i need to install twitter for wordpress? Thanks
Andrew 207 Report post Posted March 25, 2011 Ya, you can just remove your username from it in the admin or if its the 'twitterbar' in PlatformPro; you can just drag that section out of the Morefoot area.
thomasr 0 Report post Posted April 7, 2011 I don't have a twitter name set in the settings, but my site still has the "Set your Twitter account name in your settings to use the TwitterBar Section" right above the footer. I came to the forum because the documentation says "install twitter for wordpress." the problem is there are like a million plugins with the words "Twitter for Wordpress" in the name. But this forum seems to be saying: Hey, even though we force the twitter message in your footer, we aren't supporting you if the plugin crashes your site." How do I get the twitter message above my footer to go away? And why isn't the twitter portion apart of the framework and supported?
timlinson 3 Report post Posted April 8, 2011 Go to PlatformPro Settings > Template Setup, select "MoreFoot Area" from the dropdown menu and drag out the "Twitter Bar."
