site content floating over the fixed background

I want to have a fixed background image for my branding like this site here. Unfortunately, on smaller resolutions, the content lays over the background. I could do a margin for the content class .content {margin-right: 210px;} but I wasn't sure if that was the best option.

Removing the .content {margin:0 auto;} as you have planned is probably best as that site background relies on the content area to be stationary and not centered at all times
