bizint 0 Report post Posted March 22, 2011 Hi * I want to add a "half height" feature image on a page thats more text heavy than picture. I've tried to add a banner....put an image in content all sorts. Please can you tell me how. * I want to create a table in a content area...a 4 column by 16 row table of client logosd for a refence page. Cant see how to make a table or best way to do this * The majority of pages on emy sight I want a sidebar left with content on right. When I get a sidebar left layout...I seem to get content in the right, but havent a clue how to put content in the left portion...in this case it would be a sub-level nav bar... That's a start...thanks for help
Andrew 207 Report post Posted March 23, 2011 can you separate your questions into different threads in the future? 1. its difficult to have feature sections with differing heights *(technical) is that what you're going for? More specific questions please. 2. Use a plugin like Wp table reloaded, or the default WP table functionality 3. use the layouts and meta options, this will allow you to use your standard content and layout in 6 configs. bizint 0 Report post Posted March 23, 2011 1. I need a subpage without such a dominate feature size half saize...abit like this: http://www.morganlovell.co.uk/our-services/office-interior-design/ 2. Have downloaded reload...cant see any table functionality in Wordpres at all...lets see.... 3. Really not sure how this works at ll....this is probably the most frustrating aspect of all...its very difficult to figure out how to get content into a given area and what it will look like...coming from dreamweaver/fronptage...the intial setup is a real headache. Just putting unique text into one area of a unique page (no problem with global headers and global footers) is a real headscratcher....
cmunns 16 Report post Posted March 23, 2011 Hey James, 1. So can you confirm that you need two features that are different height? Why didn't the banner/highlight section work if it's not dynamic? 2. Tables are outdated form of HTML and should be used in few occasions anyway. Try using a plugin to create nice, valid tables. 3. What areas are most troublesome for you to understand? Have you seen any of the videos in the docs?
bizint 0 Report post Posted March 23, 2011 1. Yes I guess two features of different heights would be spot on, but not sure if that can work with Platform. The banner allowed me to put an image in the place of the feature...but it doesnt butt up to the nav bar liek the feature did? Also the title forces text over the image? So I'm not sure Banner is the solution? 2.I've downloaded some table plugins and I will try this 3. The biigest issue is how these widgets work...I'm going to open a new topic for this...
