Photo Gallery to open up when clicking on a Box

Recommended Posts

Dear All, I am using Boxes to on our Case Studies page (Argrove is a building company based in London) and I would like to have an image gallery open up on clicking on the Box images. Each box is a different project that we have carried out. Please see the following URL: http://argroveconstruction.com/?page_id=127 Firstly, I do not know how to do this, and secondly can you recommend a good photo gallery plugin? Thank you, James

What don't you know how to do? Could you use the default WP photo gallery, or NextGen Plugin?

I would like to have an image gallery open up on clicking on the Box images. I don't know how to do this. And which image gallery would you use? i.e. on clicking on one of the case study boxes a photo gallery should open up. This is the functionality that I need. Thank you, James

Did you set the link so it points to where the gallery would be? Or am I misunderstanding your question...do you mean lightbox gallery?

I would ideally like to have the box image open up each gallery, by clicking on the box image. I.e. Marylebone box image opens up a photo gallery containing 10 images from the Marylebone project, i.e. with foward and back buttons and a close button (in order to navigate through the project images in that gallery). Sorry, I can't explain myself better than this! Kr, James

Hey James, Best advice here is just to look around at the 100s of plugins available. I haven't tried them all for images, but I know there are tons of options. Most should be compatible and work great with your theme.

Unfortunately for me, my question is still not resolved. I don't think I need to explain it further as it is quite apparent what I want to do from the texts that I have written above, and I do not say this in a rude way, rather an honest way. I feel really let down especially as there are people participating in this forum who should know better than to just say "oh there's tons of plugins". I know that there are lots of photo gallery plugins. All I want to know is how to make the Box image (by clicking on it) open up a photo gallery. http://argroveconstruction.com/?page_id=127 I.e. Marylebone box image opens up a photo gallery containing 10 images from the Marylebone project, i.e. with foward and back buttons and a close button (in order to navigate through the project images in that gallery). I use other people's questions in this forum to learn from, and I am sure other people do the same. Mr Andrew Powers, please set a good example to your paying customers. Kind regards, A not so happy purchaser of Platform Pro Developer.

Hi James, Could you put a gallery on a specific page, and simply link to that page from the box? Or, is this something you need done automatically/dynamically?

Dear Kate/All, I don't want to put a gallery on a specific page, and simply link to that page from the box, as it's just too many clicks to arrive at the photo gallery. It's really a long-winded way to arrive at the photogallery. Really, it would be much better for the gallery to open up by cliking on the box image. Kr, James

James, What you describe is something neither this theme/framework nor any other WordPress theme support out-of-the-box. This theme does not claim to have such a feature so there is no support for that here either. You need to customize your theme to do such a thing or find a plugin that does that. I am personally looking for something similar, so if I find anything I will post a link to it here, but I am not sure there is a quick answer/solution to the question you posted.

Sourena, Thanks for getting back to me with an answer. It puts my mind at rest to know that an out-of-the-box solution isn't possible at the moment, otherwise I would have carried on wondering if it were possible without customized code. Kind regards, James

Dear Kate/All, How do I put a photo gallery on a specific page? For example, how do I put the NextGen gallery in the content area of my Case Studies page? http://argroveconstruction.com/?page_id=127 I can only add the NextGen gallery as a widget in a sidebar, however, I need the gallery in the content area. Kr, James
