Footer question and activating Feature slideshow

Hi...two questions. 1. How do you edit the items in the footer? I've gone to the Footer setup and added a line into the "Terms" box and yet that text doesn't show up. On all pages, the is text showing a search box, "A few highly recommended..." and "recent blog posts." These are all original to the Pagelines template and I want to remove them. 2. How do I activate the Features section? I have it set to fade between images and hold on an image for 1.5sec, but I load the page and it does not activate the slide show. Thanks.

The footer items can be edited by using new widgets in the morefoot left, center, and right widget areas.

What do you mean by "load" ? Do you have the correct page template selected?
