New to Platform Pro| New to WordPress

Greetings-- First off, I am not a web developer. I thought with some patience, reading and playing I would be able to build a unique site using Platform Pro. Well I fail. Under Design Control there is Import Settings. Are there any progressive, forward thinking 'settings' that could be imported My goal is to have a site that does not look like another wordpress site. Will be a source to promote flight instruction (I am a freelance flight instructor), travels of a pilot with wanderlust, Amazon integration for products (Omakase as well embedded recommended products) Eventually have a 'shop' to sell branded shirts/etc. Advertising, but not on the standard blog locations on the page. As this is a proof of concept, I do not have the budget for a full extensive site design/build out. I have a pro-design friend creating a logo. Thanks for any 'settings' themes/imports for platform pro. Once i have something, I *think* I should be able to tweak/update without breaking too much

I don't know, any settings file that you would import would probably be made for a specific website, so it would seem easier to start from the default settings if you know what you are trying to achieve, no? There is no dead-end support here so if you have any questions or need help, the forum is a fantastic place to get that help. Some people do struggle at the beginning but after a while almost always are able to get the site to where they want. I will however, forward this to the developers in case they have any nice sets of settings lying around or know people that do.
