Creating a newsletter Subscription area

Hey guys, I'm trying to create a little area where people can sign up for my upcoming newsletter.. I won't be using a service like Aweber but instead like to do it manually.. Can anyone explain how I should get that setup and is there a code I can type that creates a sign up box? I'd like to have it in one of the 3 feature boxes on the main page and a well as a widget... Any help would be greatly appreciated ben

I think a plugin would be best for that. You can try searching for subscription plugins or try this one: http://subscribe2.wordpress.com/
