viveksweet 0 Report post Posted March 19, 2011 Hey guys, I just started setting up Iblog pro and love it so far. I'm just a little confused right now and can't seem to figure it out. I try setting up the home page with the features etc but have no luck so far.. I created a new page called home and choose the template to "future page" but that only creates a new page with the features. I'd like to use the little home icon on the right for the home page... Can anyone explain how to fix that? Thanks a ton Ben
catrina 103 Report post Posted March 19, 2011 You can enable the features in the default home page by going to Theme Options > Pages and Posts > Features On Blog/Posts Page and checking the box next to Show feature template on posts page?. You don't need to create a new page to use as the home page. Please read the docs before posting. Please do not private message me unless I ask you to. csafigan 0 Report post Posted March 24, 2011 Where is the "default home page"? I found a different entry in the forum for how to create a static home page, which I did successfully, but now I have a home and a little house icon in my navigation, which I of course do not want. thanks
meexitpathcom 0 Report post Posted April 12, 2011 Hi All - Not sure if this is really "fixed for good". We have gone round and round with this, and found a super easy way to get it done. One that is also useful for maximizing your nav bar real estate as you grow as well. It's a free WP plugin called Exclude Pages http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/exclude-pages/ So I simply set the Home page as Home (I usually have the Feature Slider and 3 Feature Boxes as home, and strip out any noise from there. Makes it much easier for visitors to navigate the site). An example is here: http://www.thoughtrod.com/ Let me know if that helps. The additional benefit? Maybe you have a special or a landing page that you do not want in the navigation. A page you use to drive prospects to and through to your site. THis plugin is great for those types of things. Hope that's helpful! best, ME
