New Feature and YouTube Embed

Recommended Posts

markdalton

Hi, I have created a new feature. I have set the feature text position to full width image or media - no text and the feature design style to black text - no feature background - no overlay. I have then copied and pasted the embed code from a YouTube video into the feature media HTML box. However the media never loads. Can you help?

Hi there, and thanks for the quick response, I have tried the HTML5 (Pref Option)

<iframe title="YouTube video player" width="560" height="349" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/zAvc2mOQ_tU" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
And also the Flash
	<object width="560" height="349"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/zAvc2mOQ_tU?fs=1&hl=en_GB"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/zAvc2mOQ_tU?fs=1&hl=en_GB" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="560" height="349"></embed></object>

Is the entire feature slider not loading because of the embed code or did you disable the feature slider for now?

On the Live feed page there are three features. The first two are just images & text, the third had the embed code. As you can probably see this just show's up as a white panel.

Is the feature with the video in the feature set that you have selected for the page? Is it called "The Show"? Have you tried just text or an image in this particular feature to see if it shows up, and therefore a problem with the media itself?

To confirm the embed code I have inserted it into the page that is set to load the features.

<p style="text-align: center;"><object width="560" height="349" type="application/futuresplash" align="center"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/zAvc2mOQ_tU?fs=1&hl=en_GB" /><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true" /><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always" /><embed type="application/futuresplash" width="560" height="349" src="http://www.youtube.com/v/zAvc2mOQ_tU?fs=1&hl=en_GB" allowfullscreen="true" allowscriptaccess="always"></embed></object></p>

If you view the site You will be able to see the YouTube clip at the bottom.

Since it's a problem with the slide itself, have you tried adding the video to a different slide?

Do you mean creating a new feature? If so yes, many times. Please clarify. I'm still learning the PageLines Lingo!

Yes, sorry, that is what I meant. How about adding the embed code to the first slide instead?

Hi okay I tried that and it makes no difference. I have created the following page http://www.markdalton.co.uk/testing and used the default default feature set and have the same problem. The YouTube video just doesn't load.

This is working on my install... Have you removed all images, and other settings from the feature?

Yes I have tried all permutations and it's just the embed that doesn't work.

I don't understand because you don't even have a feature slider section on any of your pages. Are you sure you've explained it right?

I had to remove them as they were not working! As for explaining it right how would I know if I was explaining it wrong? Me is confused at the best of times ;-) The simple face is if I place YouTube embed code in the feature it doesn't work. Show me your magic!

I've tested it and it works fine so I don't know how to help you. 1. Use the old embed Youtube code. 2. Please activate the section...at least on a test page so I can inspect it for errors that may give me more clues.

Sorry got distracted by something else... Test page is here Simple one page feature added to the default-features feature set with a title and the following embed code for a certain sneezing panda YouTube clip.

<object width="425" height="349"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/FzRH3iTQPrk?fs=1&hl=en_GB"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/FzRH3iTQPrk?fs=1&hl=en_GB" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="349"></embed></object>

Hm, I'm not seeing anything in this test page. When I check the source, I don't see any embed code either...
