Full-width menu on top with footer color, just like on pagelines.com

I've been going through posts dealing with about that topic, but I can't finally figure... I would like to have full-width menu on top featuring body background color, just like the menu at pagelines.com, which is as black as the footer backbground. I've tried both full-width design with and without canvas. I've read of something like a full-width sidebar. I can't see that anywhere, esp. not in the header section. Thanks, Fritz

The full-width sidebar takes up the full width of space just above the footer, so I don't think that's what you're looking to edit. You should set the design mode to full-width again and add this CSS to your base.css file:

#branding {background-color: #000;}
