florafair 0 Report post Posted March 18, 2011 Hello, This is the site I'm working on: http://allisonfishman.com As you can see, when you click on a tag or a category from a post, it will bring up the list of related posts, but the category or tag name won't show at the top. How can I fix this? Thanks!
Guest Guest Report post Posted March 18, 2011 Have you done any customization to the section.postsinfo.php file? Usually by default your archive pages have a section at the top which reads: Currently viewing the category: X and this is the file which dictates that. florafair 0 Report post Posted March 18, 2011 No, I didn't, but I do have a plugin which is making the feed appear on the blog page and the recipes page. Could this plugin be interfering with that? I am still trying to figure out the best way to have a blog archives page, and then a category-specific posts page. Any suggestions?
catrina 103 Report post Posted March 18, 2011 Try deactivating that plugin and see what happens. As for the blog archives page, you might want to check out this plugin: http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/clean-archives-reloaded/ A category-specific posts page is viewable if you go to: http://YOURDOMAINADDRESSHERE/category/CATEGORYNAME Please read the docs before posting. florafair 0 Report post Posted March 19, 2011 So I created a custom menu with the recipes category feed as a page, and that worked great. I also downloaded the Clean Archives Reloaded plugin for a blog archives page, which is also working. A few questions: For the recipes category feed page: 1. Is it possible to control which widgets appear in the sidebar? And for the Clean Archives plugin: 1. Is there a similar plugin that allows you to have the sidebar be viewable on the page? Or that allows your thumbnails for each post to appear in the feed? Is there a simpler way of creating a blog archive page in Platform Pro? I know there's an archive page template in regular wordpress themes. I tried to create one in Platform pro, but with no luck. Lastly, for the tags and categories, they are still not showing up at the top of the pages, even though I removed the pages post plugin. Any other ideas why they might not be showing up? Thanks! catrina 103 Report post Posted March 19, 2011 The category page is going to share the same sidebar with the home page, so if you'd like to be able to change the widgets, you will probably need more in-depth customization. For the archives, I don't know of any similar plugin, but alternatively there might be a way to create a blog archive page. Was this the tutorial you used before?: http://codex.wordpress.org/Creating_an_Archive_Index Can you check your section.postsinfo.php file to see if the "Currently viewing..." code is there?
