How to make site private in development (WhiteHousePro)

Under Wordpress 'Privacy' settings there are just two options: [*]I would like my site to be visible to everyone, including search engines (like Google, Bing, Technorati) and archivers I would like to block search engines, but allow normal visitors But I'd like my site entirely private whilst in development. How? Thanks

Hi Mick, So you do or don't want search engines? As for the "private" during development. There are different "maintenance mode" plugins that could help you out with that. You can check the WordPress repository for them: http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/

Hi Kate, I don't want it findable on the web at all while I'm building it up (except for me when I'm logged in of course). I guess ideally I'd be able to issue logins to partners involved. But that is secondary. I will check those maintenance mode plugins asap and come back to vote - cheers for helping out.
