Hide specific sidebar by default.

I am not sure if similar question has been asked on this forum, but I can't seem to find a way how to do this. In a layout with right sidebar (Sidebar 1). I would like to use different sidebars in posts than in pages. (Switching between primary and secondary sidebar). I understand how this is done in template setup adding both sidebars into primary Sidebar and then hiding either one from the Page/Post edit page. The question is: Can it be set that when I create a new Page or Post the preference to hide secondary sidebar would be set (checked) by default ? Reason: Lets say that you are building a site for a client that wants to blog. And you have 2 or 3 sidebars loaded in your Sidebar1 to display on certain pages: Primary on home page Secondary on other pages Tretiary on posts (showing related posts for example) The situation is that when client creates a new post, by default the page renders all 3 loaded sidebars. Clients dont usually like to think(or remember) and look around for options. They rather call and make you fix stuff and thats what I am trying to avoid here. Thank you P.

It seems it would be easier to use a plugin like "Widget Logic" or "Section Widget" instead of using sidebars the way you described: http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/widget-logic/ http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/section-widget/ "Query Posts" also is a good choice: http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/query-posts/

Thank you guys, Widget-Logic did the trick and there is no need to work with multiple sidebars. Thank you again. P.
