chromer_fishing 1 Report post Posted March 15, 2011 I have three sites that I've built using Platform pro. www.steelheadfishingcanada.com PlatformPro Version 1.1.5 www.salmonfishinglodges.com PlatformPro Version 1.2.2 www.vancouverfishingtrips.com PlatformPro Version 1.2.0 I cannot for the life of me figure out how to upgrade the them. What I've done is. 1. Login to Pagelines Launchpad. 2. Downloaded "PlatformPro Theme Framework" zip file. 3. Renamed the zip file so I know it is the most current on my desktop. 4. Login to Wordpress, go to "Themes" then upload the zip file. Each time I get an error message telling me that the "Theme is already Installed" I'm loving Platform Pro, its all pretty easy, but what am I missing here that is making this such a difficult process? Can someone explain it, the Docs leave me confused, I really don't understand any of them. Thanks.
bryan-hadaway 3 Report post Posted March 16, 2011 It's because renaming the zip file does nothing, you must unzip and rename the folder within, then re-zip and upload. However, and very important this is not the recommended way to handle an upgrade. What you actually want to do is access your site via FTP and rename your old platformpro folder. That way you can simply upgrade and keep the new platformpro folder name intact which is especially important if you're using PlatformBase. These steps are for upgrading via ftp: http://www.pagelines.com/docs/upgrading If you're still not comfortable doing it yourself and want to hire someone, you could contact one of these pagelines pros: http://www.pagelines.com/pros/
