Pagination not visible on single post page

(Edit: this post belongs in PlatformPro - don't know how to move it.) I know a similar question to this has been asked before but the answer there doesn't cover my issue. I am using the WP-PageNavi plugin. I've dragged the Pagination tile into the displayed section for both my Posts Page Content Area and my Single Post Page Content Area. The navigation shows up on the former, but not on the latter. Given the tile exists for Single Pages, shouldn't it just work without further coding? Any idea why not? The navigation that should work is the "post navigation" tile. I don't think WP-PageNavi works with paginating posts, this has come up before. Are you trying to paginate long posts?

Thanks Adam, I now realise the distinction between pagination (breaking long posts into pages) and navigation (links between posts).
