Can't turn off featured image/excerpt in Category-view

Hi, I'm having one more problem with Platform Pro. When I view a category I get featured image (thumnbnail) and excerpt although I have set them to off under "Blog and posts" in the Platform-settings. See this link: http://cadev.skorge.se/category/bakom-bilden/

No, tried that. And yes it works with Category-view but then, of course, the feat. img and excerpt don't show up in the Archive-view. Thanks for the help!

Can I ask what the "Category list" checkbox in the Blog and Posts panel refers to then?

This is a Category page, right? http://cadev.skorge.se/category/bakom-bilden/ If so, I can't control it using the checkbox in the Blog and posts panel.

You should be able to control it by checking the checkbox in the Blog and posts panel. Disable the plugins and try again to see if it works. If that fixes the problem you have a conflict there with one of the plugins.

Un-click post archives and see if that works. I think technically categories are a type of archive.

Yeah, un-checking "Post archives" solves it. But then the real "Archives" goes without thumbnail and excerpt.

Hi Patrik, I apologize, I'm still not sure I understand what you're saying about the difference in post archive types. The ones you linked to are the archives.

I have to uncheck "Post archives" to get rid of thumbnail and excerpt on Category pages. If I'm not wrong Post archives should control this view: http://cadev.skorge.se/2011/03/ And Category lists should control this: http://cadev.skorge.se/category/bakom-bilden/

I would copy the template.postloop.php into your PlatformBase folder so you can modify it to your needs. This way you could add a conditional statement to have them not show up. I'm not sure why this option changed, but I had a feeling that archives would take care of it. You could as a solution for now hide the category thumbs with CSS, but it's up to you.

I'm having the same exact problem as Patrick. It seems to me the "Category Lists" check box isn't really doing anything and it would be nice if it did, otherwise why include it as a distinct option.

To try and be a bit clearer, it sees, as Adam says that "Category Lists" are a type of "Post Archives", and so the behavior I'm seeing is the following: UNCHECK THUMBNAILS for "Category Lists" and "Post Archives" - thumbnails wont display for "url/category/cat-name" or "url/2011/03" CHECK THUMBNAILS for "Category Lists" but UNCHECK THUMBNAILS for "Post Archives" - thumbnails will display for "url/category/cat-name" but not for "url/2011/03" UNCHECK THUMBNAILS for "Category Lists" but CHECK THUMBNAILS for "Post Archives" - thumbnails display for both "url/category/cat-name" and "url/2011/03" regardless of the fact that "Category Lists" is unchecked The behavior we are suggesting (or that I'm suggesting) is that "Category Lists" be treaded as distinct from "Post Archives" rather than a subset so that the following behavior would be possible UNCHECK THUMBNAILS for "Category Lists" but CHECK THUMBNAILS for "Post Archives" - thumbnails don't display for "url/category/cat-name" but do display for "url/2011/03" For me this would be nice because one main section of my site is my "Posts/Blog Page" that displays the full post content but another is a "Category List" but I want that to also display the full post content vs. behaving like an archive.
