Pages and Margins

Recommended Posts

Right now I have my individual posts set for full page. What I'd like to have is the margins wider on those pages so that there's more white space on the page. I also want the text floated left, but centered. Is there any way to do that as a class or something? Or do I have to add an individual page code every time I publish a post? E.g., http://appeals.me/perea-statutory-stack-capping/ Thanks.

What theme are you using and what's your site link? You don't have to add an individual page code. There should be a class that can be edited to achieve that.

Right now your pages have sidebars, which won't allow your pages to become centered left. They should be removed first, unless you want to keep them and I'm just misunderstanding you. Perhaps you can show me an example of what you mean by left but centered? The way I'm imagining it is text that is in the middle of the page with flush left alignment.

Ah, I see now. Add this code to the base.css file:

#page-canvas {margin-left: 20px; margin-right: 20px;}

The text is already in the middle of the page in flush left.

The code pushes everything to the right (doesn't appear that margin-right works). Also, it does change the margin on the homepage, too. Is there a css command that allows for changing the margins on full-width only?

Yes, try prepennding a 'fullwidth' class to your rule:

div.fullwidth #page-canvas {margin-left: 20px; margin-right: 20px;}

Jimmy, Thanks for the tip. The margin-right still doesn't appear to take.

Catrina and Jimmy, Thanks, figured it out. .fullwidth #column-main .mcolumn-pad { padding-left: 130px; padding-right: 130px; }
