Missing Sub Menu Items after Upgrade

Recommended Posts

ideric

I upgraded our Platform Pro theme to the latest version and now the second set of menu options are missing from the main navigation. See here: http://www.yourhealingretreat.com/june-2011-retreat Prior to the upgrade, the user would have a second set of menu options below the main menu - the sub pages of the June 2011 Retreat section. They are now missing. Could you let me know how to get them back?

Alright, I have done some experimentation. It looks like it has to do with the new 'Secondary Nav' template section in the latest update. Is there any way to have it function as it did before this update? If not, that means I need to edit nearly 100 pages to set the proper secondary navigation setting.

Well I can no longer wait for an answer. I will just need to slug through the manual updates of all the pages. not happy.

Hey Eric, Sorry about that... if you'd waited we could have given you a hook or some code to add it back. The new option is IMO way better for CMS. Sorry about the inconvenience of it.

What is the correct way to fix this please as I still have the same issue and my sub-navigation is not appearing in PP 1.3.2 and WP 3.1? Thanks

I had the same problem, and was told to fix it like this:

It is a custom menu option now. You can create a custom menu and then specify which one to use on individual pages using the meta options.
It worked for me, but my site is quite simple. I hope it works for you too.

Hmmm - 400+ pages = 250+ custom menus. I can see the logic, but it would have been nice to have had the option to choose between the old and the new way!
