chromer_fishing 1 Report post Posted March 11, 2011 I have two sites I've built/building using Platform Pro. The first is complete... www.steelheadfishingcanada.com Version 1.1.5 Global Content Width 800 Full Width Design Framework The second I'm working on... www.salmonfishinglodges.com Version 1.2.2 Global Content Width 804 Full Width Design Framework My problem is that they are two different widths. How is this possible if all the settings are the same? I'm guessing it is a version issue but how is that possible? Will updating to 1.2.2 leave all my slider features on steelheadfishingcanada.com with black edges because they will not be big enough to fill the feature space. And can someone give me a link of instructions of how to upgrade. There is nothing that is clearly decisive on here that I feel confident following. Thanks in advance. kastelic 6 Report post Posted March 11, 2011 Hi. You should have no problem upgrading. I have the latest version with my global width set to 800 and the width is 800. No idea how yours got to 960 if you have it set to 800. Are you sure you have the correct settings? Here's a link to the docs regarding upgrading your installations: http://www.pagelines.com/docs/upgrading
chromer_fishing 1 Report post Posted March 15, 2011 Thanks Jimmy, That upgrading Doc is beyond my comprehension, I really cannot figure out how to upgrade. I love Platform Pro and have figured out most of it but the upgrade process still eludes me.
bryan-hadaway 3 Report post Posted March 16, 2011 The simple answer to upgrading is this: - Back everything up; Backup your DB: http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/wp-db-backup/ Backup your Theme Settings: bottom of setting page Backup all files and folders via FTP: your host will have docs or support on this (you should do this from time to time for safe keeping anyways) - With your newly gained knowledge of FTPing: go to /wp-content/themes/platformpro/ and rename platformpro before attempting to install a new version - if you experience serious issues you may switch back to the old theme Thanks, Bryan
