darthninja 0 Report post Posted March 8, 2011 Ok, this is a continuation of the issue we sorted out here http://www.pagelines.com/forum/topic.php?id=6896 Now when I click on an archive page the sidebar menu is not showing (It was never working, I assumed once the blog page was fixed this would fix). The menu on the right hand side of this page http://threesquaredemail.com/blog/ does not show on this category listing page http://threesquaredemail.com/category/observations-answers/ Or on the archives page http://threesquaredemail.com/2011/03/ Both of the pages in question can be reach by the menu on the Blog page. Thoughts?
bryan-hadaway 3 Report post Posted March 8, 2011 I don't believe it was ever meant to, category, archive pages are really just simple list pages. I'm going to mark for developer input to see if there's something more to be easily done here... Thanks, Bryan
darthninja 0 Report post Posted March 8, 2011 Interesting and thanks Bryan. How did you get this to work on the PageLines Blog when I click on a tag. http://www.pagelines.com/tag/theme/ I would assume that the theme would default to the index.php template (I'm guessing this is used for the blog posts page) and that an archive or category page would do the same. Fingers crossed there's a way around this.
cmunns 16 Report post Posted March 8, 2011 archives and categories and tags are actually posts page templates so the sidebars should show up as they do on the blog. I'll double check to make sure.
cmunns 16 Report post Posted March 8, 2011 Okay it does appear this was changed recently, but no worries the next major update is to improve the meta option handling for non-meta pages.
darthninja 0 Report post Posted March 8, 2011 Thanks Adam, any suggested work around until the next update?
bryan-hadaway 3 Report post Posted March 9, 2011 It's not going to be worth tearing up the engine on this. I recommend waiting for the new model so to speak. Thanks, Bryan
darthninja 0 Report post Posted March 9, 2011 Thanks Adam and Bryan. Got ya. I'll see if I come up with a custom template in the meantime.
