Rich Text Widget

Recommended Posts

Does anyone have good results with WordPress 3+ and rich-text-widget or rich-widget... The rich-text widget does not display the basic functions in my version...(such as Bold, Italic etc...) it is sort of "hidden" like a glitch... rich-widget using the FKeditor shows all.. however.. images: one just hangs (rich-text-widget) the other one says its uploaded, but broken links... anyone using one that works?

Yes... I've been installing and testing.. however, the two above have issues... wondering what others are using? for me it is not an issue with coding html... however clients will want that functionality to change a "quote, testimonial" or other for a side bar...

Have you thought about writing shortcodes for your clients to use?

I didn't think about shortcodes... I haven't worked with shortcodes.... coming from using drupal... standard "blocks" utilize the editor... whereas WP doesn't have that feature that I can find working inside their widget area.. however, when searching around after your post I found Jshortcodes... seems like a cool idea for columns and callouts..

@Bryan, I dont have a particular code in mind... I wanted my clients to be able to add & format text and/or pictures within a text widget. Seems like a basic no-brainer.. however, wordpress 3.x and existing plugins are not fully working.
