change nav menu to black, text to white

I'm unsure how I would make this change. I did review other posts with code suggestions but I was also unsure where to put that code so if you don't mind, please be as specific as possible as to how I locate where to put this code as well. Appreciate any and all help, DD

Hey Dean - First of all, are you using Firebug? You'll find that to be a very valuable asset. You'll be able to see what the current "background" and "color" values are for those elements. Then, you can add your changes to "Settings->Custom Code->Custom CSS".
