How to do two different background images on the site?

(Originally posted in "general" category by error) I have Platform Pro v1.31. Sorry if this has been answered before, I couldn't find it nor figure it out. Ok I've got a total of 26 pages. I need the background on the static homepage (a "feature" page with picture fader) to be, say "background-A.jpg". All other 25 pages including blog page have "background-B.jpg". How do I pull that off? I've seen some stuff on hooks and all but I'm not sure I understand how to do that. I really need this to work out! ;-) Also, if anyone knows---how do I get those white hover boxes to go away on the primary nav, and just have that be transparent? Like on mouseover I want the nav menu word to change color, but I don't want any white (or any other color) box. Thanks. Sorry for being a moron. ;-)
