White Screen of Death - corrupted Theme files?

I just purchased this theme and it is corrupted. I can't upload the zip file using the WP theme install function. It gives an error message: Installing Theme from uploaded file: platformpro.zip Unpacking the package??¦ Could not create directory .../wp-content/upgrade/platformpro/platformpro It doesn't matter if I try to install the base theme first - same message. I uploaded the unzipped files to the themes directory and I got the white screen of death, so I had to remove the theme from the folder. HELP!

Are you able to install any other theme with the wordpress theme installer? Looks like a permissions problem with the 'upgrade' folder and/or wp-content folder not having rw access to create the theme folders.

Thanks! That was exactly the problem. I upgraded to WP 3.1 and the permissions needed tweaking.
