Migrating to Platform Pro Base Child Theme

I realized that I have been building my site off the main PlatformPro platform vs. the Base Child Theme, as I probably should have been and would like to find out if there is a way to move all the work I've done in the main platform over to the base theme without loosing it? Also, I'd like to upgrade to 1.3 so if you have suggestions how to do it all simultaneously, that would be helpful Thanks!

No way to do it simultaneously easily. However, here is basically what you need to do: First, make sure you have installed the latest PlatformBase theme. Copy ALL changes and edits you've made to PlatformPro and add them to PlatformBase. Your theme settings can be exported and saved to your hard drive, then reloaded in the Base theme. Make sure you copy any changes you've made to any files, especially functions.php and base.css and get those added to the Base theme files. Once all of your changes are copied and moved over, activate your base theme to make sure it looks and works the same. If not, activate your Pro theme again and find the edits that you missed and move them. Rinse, repeat, until the base theme works exactly like the Pro theme. Then, you can update your platformPro theme without affecting your modifications.

ok, call me crazy - but i just went through, uploaded the base theme to wordpress & activated it, but it's not showing up under my the list of available themes on the "Manage Themes" page ... any clue what I might have done wrong?

i lied ... it's there, it just looks exactly like platform pro so i overlooked it!

Mark - I have 1.3 uploaded and now have both the older version and the new version. Do i need to get rid of the old version? If I do will I loose my base theme look/feel/content?

Base will use whichever theme is named /platformpro Just make sure that your most recent version is the one without the different directory name.

Personally, I delete the old version of PlatformPro once I've upgraded and made sure everything is working. I've heard and experienced weird little issues when I left the old version of Pro on my site, but I have no idea why that would be or if it really makes any difference. Ultimately, there's just no reason to leave the old version on the site once the upgrade is complete and verified working. Just my opinion.
