rsmills1 0 Report post Posted February 25, 2011 I think i found some sort of answer. Changing the default page won't change the main page. I wanted to add a carousel. To do this i had to add it to the header and not to default page. Then it appeared.
cshoffmann 0 Report post Posted February 26, 2011 To create a custom home page you need to do these steps: 1. Create a page: Pages>Add Page; Choose layout and page template (ie., Default Page, Feature Page, Carousel Page, etc.) then publish the page. 2. In WP admin go to Settings>Reading and choose static home page and assign it to the page you just created. Now assign the Posts page below the static home page assignment. 3. Update your menu by going to WP Admin>Appearance>Menu and add the page to the menu. Now click the page and Label it Home. Next add the Page you told the settings to be the post page and label it (ie, Blog, News, etc.) Next, Click Save That's it! you now have a custom home page.
