Logo + header text + subheader

Recommended Posts

See the image below, the top part is what I have currently and the bottom part of the image is what I'm trying to accomplish (just mocked it up in Photoshop). I tried editing the header.php file a bit then adjusting the CSS so that it would display both text and a logo at the same time but then the text kept showing up on top of the logo no matter what margin or padding I set (had set as float:left too). Any ideas? b2vX7.jpg

<div id="header" class="fix">
			<?php if(pagelines('custom_header')):?>
				<div style="float:left; display:block;">
				">
				" alt="<?php echo SITENAME; ?>"/>

				</div>
					<div>
		      		<h1 id="blogtitle">"><span class="sheen"></span><?php bloginfo('name'); ?></h1>
		      		<div id="blogdescription"><?php bloginfo('description'); ?></div>
		      		</div>
			<?php endif; ?>
			<?php include (LIB.'/_iconlinks.php'); ?>
Then the CSS is:
#blogdescription { position: absolute; float: left; color: #6a6a6a; margin-top: 44px; /* description distance from top of screen */ margin-left: 132px; font-weight: bold; }

It works in modern web browsers, but not in IE 6-8.

for the div that holds the image, you'll want to float that left and specify a width: For the div that holds the text, you'll want to do the same: `

"><?php bloginfo('name'); ?>

<?php bloginfo('description'); ?>
`
