Blog and Posts Setting help

I have put in several test blog entries under the main menu category heading of Cook with BeBetsy and assigned the entries to sub categories. The sub category (Recipes) menu should show only the thumbnail with a small excerpt. This would hold true for the sub of that category (Be Chocolate) as well. I am new to all of this and just a bit confused. Please see my site at http://bebetsy.com and let me know what to 'check with a mark' so that it will work. Thank you.

Well right now it doesn't look at all like the default format...to me it looks like a plugin generated setup...??

I see. I plugged in Yoast WordPress SEO to stripe the category base from the URL. I just deleted it and now my menu will not work at all. What do you think?

OK. The menu is working now but still have the problem outlined in initial question. So now what do you think?

Right now, as far as the settings are concerned; I think it's one or the other. Thumb with content or just excerpts with no thumb. This may be addressed in the upcoming update: 1.3. Let me get some developer insight. Thanks, Bryan

You have to show thumb for clips and show thumbs on posts/blog pages...what boxes are you currently checking to show thumbs? Do you have the featured image set so that thumbs will show up in the first place?

Thank you for your help. Please see the following link which will show what I have checked-yes, I have added the featured image to all post already. Do you suppose my menu is the problem. I would like the main top menu to show the entire post(s) with just an excerpt showing on the sub categories. see site

I think with categories, you can't have different settings for different ones.
